“I am passionate about HopeWell because I have seen first-hand the tremendous work that goes on there. It is a place for people with cancer to get away from a hospital setting and feel at home. Whenever I visit, I feel the warmth and compassion… people here understand the devastating effect cancer has on a family and it shows. HopeWell is on the top of our giving list because it’s a wonderful place to reach out to others and make a difference in our own community.”

“My husband, Michael, was a member of the Brain Tumor Networking Group at HopeWell. He found it a place of great refuge—a home—the serenity, the house, and the people. At HopeWell, he could openly express how he felt. He couldn’t do that at work and, he didn’t want to scare his family at home. For me, becoming part of the leadership of HopeWell after Michael’s death has enabled me to continue his dedication to this special place. We are all vulnerable when it comes to cancer. And I think it is essential that HopeWell continues to provide its invaluable work and grow to meet the needs of the community.”

“HopeWell is important…and it will only get more important as the number of cancer patients grows. When someone has cancer, it changes his or her entire life. As professionals, we can only focus on so much. We need help. We need to help patients connect with other experts or resources for the other spheres of their lives that are affected by cancer and its treatment. I really see HopeWell as a place where patients can go to connect with one another and with other experts in areas of their lives that are not the purview of oncologists. Patients need to get into depth in those areas, and at HopeWell they can and do.”

Our Mission is to create a community for all people with cancer, their families and friends, that encourages an exchange of information, the development of a support system and the presence of hope.
